View my basket - 2 Cart

Price: £385 per person

Duration: 2 days, 09:30 – 16:30

Minimum age: 12 years old

Pre-requisites: None required, RYA PB1 recommended for younger students

The RYA Powerboat Level 2 course is targeted at adults and kids older than 12 and is an international standard for powerboat handling competency. No prior experience is required, although for younger students we often recommend attending a Powerboat Level 1 course first in order to be able to get the most from the course.

Key elements covered on the course include:

  • Power handling at slow and high speed
  • Collision regulations and ‘rules of the road’
  • Anchoring
  • Mooring on pontoons and jetties
  • Picking up a mooring buoy
  • Use of trailers
  • Towing
  • Chartwork and navigation
  • Tides
  • Emergency situations

With your Powerboat Level 2 you can apply for an International Certificate of Competence which allows you to hire boats up to 10m long internationally.

We provide all safety equipment, and can provide waterproofs if needed. All we ask is that you come with appropriate footwear (wellies or trainers depending on the weather!) and plenty of water, suncream and lunch!

Note: if you are looking to do a course with your child(ren), the PB1 and PB2 course can be taught simultaneously, with the younger students awarded their Level 1 and older students taught the more complex skills and awarded their PB2 at the end of the two-days.
