Information for schools
We can’t wait to welcome you for your session with Salcombe Watersports. Please read the information on this page carefully, it will help to make your activity as successful as possible.
For sessions held at our HQ at Port Waterhouse in East Portlemouth, we are able to provide toilet facilities and limited changing facilities. However, we only have two changing cubicles and so it is preferable for children to arrive ready to either go on the water, or put on a wetsuit over some swimmers, without needing to go into a changing room.
For sessions held at Mothecombe beach, we have no changing facilities or toilets and so children must arrive having been to the toilet and either in their wetsuits or ready to put on a wetsuit over their swimmers. Please also ensure that children bring suitable warm clothes for after their session, particularly if they will be staying on the beach for a while before returning to the house.
For all sessions, we require a completed disclaimer returned to us at the latest the day before the session. You can download the disclaimer in an Excel and PDF format below:
If you have any problems filling out the forms, please get in touch with us.
Finally, where the group is split into several sessions, we ask that you split the children up by approximate ability/water confidence. This helps to ensure that everyone gets the most out of the sessions: it allows the more confident paddlers to be provided with a challenging session, whilst ensuring that the less confident paddlers are not alienated or scared, and allows the less confident paddlers to leave the session with a real sense of achievement, having all worked together to conquer and master the art of paddling!
Any questions?
